Janet Jackson Is ‘Grateful for Every Day’ After Experiencing a ‘Number of Health Issues’

Janet Jackson put her all into her Las Vegas concert residency, wowing the crowd at the Resorts World Theatre with a two-hour, 43-song set, featuring some of her greatest hits as well as some seriously deep cuts.

The initial run was such a success that in mid-January, Janet announced she was extending the residency into May, much to the delight of her fans. “Janet is the darling of the Vegas Strip right now, but it’s taken a lot of blood, sweat and tears,” reveals a source exclusively to Life & Style , who says the 58-year-old singer endured “ some major challenges ” in recent years. “While Janet is a very private person, it’s no secret she’s had a number of health issues.”

In 2008, the pop star was rushed to the hospital after falling ill during the sound check for her Rock Witchu tour stop in Montreal, Canada. “The reason was kept very hush-hush, but it definitely took a huge toll on her,” says the source. “Janet’s a fighter, though. She made it through and these days, she really is living her best life. She’s grateful for every day and looking forward to the future.”
